Secondary Research
Prior to starting the design process, we researched market leading wellness sites. Comparing these sites allowed us to ideate and leverage various successful components for our own design. Through our exploration and findings we compared a variety of sites and applications that helped users achieve their holistic wellness goals.
Observations
Wellness Landing Page Key Elements
Many landing pages featured the F and Z page layouts where the eyed had to move across the page in this fashion when the user scrolled down; leveraging this design layout creates more interest in the design and information.
The gamification element of improving one’s physical well-being provided a great way to incentivize users.
Highlighting embedded educational elements on the landing page creates further incentive to invest time in the product.
Wellness Dashboard Key Elements
Many wellness sites took a holistic approach and incorporated multiple elements to be aware of into the individual’s score or rating.
Some sites compared members’ scores to improve one’s health by creating competition between both individuals and groups.
Some sites incorporated both a system of points and dollars earned.
Analysis
Site Mapping
We created the following site map or beginning of a wireframe based on the client’s asks. Documenting and illustrating the elements the client specifically asked for allowed us to to create a road-map for making it higher fidelity while accomplishing all of the client’s needs.
Target User
We created a value proposition that supported the business strategy to provide a combination of insurance and wealth services through a holistic wellness site. We focused on creating an experience for two of their personas that the client had already established. These included targeting the executives who wanted to focus a lot on resiliency as well as targeting users who wanted to find a vision and future experience. We used these journeys to brainstorm and dive deeper on key moments that helped to drive the design process.

Feedback
Survey
We conducted a survey after creating the prototype MVP to gain a deeper understanding of the users’ needs and wants. Gaining this feedback on the prototype was imperative for future iterations and improving the prototype.
Survey Questions
Did you find the Holistic Wellness pages intuitive?
Did the element of competition motivate you and who do you want to compete with?
Did the progression of the categories fit what you would want to achieve holistic wellness?
Were there any holistic categories missing that you would like included?
Conclusion
Summary
The majority of users found the site intuitive and said that they felt they would benefit from the competitive elements. Several users gave the feedback that they would want further integration from the site such as incorporating AI data from their daily routines. Overall the client was very pleased with the design work and provided positive feedback as well.
Next Steps
Conduct further usability testing after the site is developed that dive into the specific development needs for each wellness category.
Work with the development team to improve UX as they develop the product as well as the UI design.
